We are Andrew (Director) and Laura (Assistant Director) of Ambler Music Academy. When we started the Academy in 2011, we knew we wanted to create a music school where students could learn, play and grow in a nurturing, caring environment.

We believe that the benefits of learning music reach far beyond the notes on a page. When people learn music they are also learning about to appreciate aesthetics, to think creatively, and to express themselves in a new medium. It's a wonderful gift to  be able to create music and share it with others.

​

We truly value the process of learning music. Most students will not be professional musicians. However, we hope that all students will learn to love making music and that it will be a significant part of their lives.

​

In addition to regular lessons, we offer a number of performance opportunities for students, in both formal and casual settings. Not only are they  an opportunity for students to share what they have been learning, we know that there is no better learning opportunity than observing our peers. By watching and supporting other Academy students, it is easy to reflect on how much students have grown since their first performance and to set some goals for what they may achieve in a few short years.

Learning music is undeniably beneficial for brain development, weaving together and making connections between the logical and creative, and increasing discipline, perseverance, self-esteem and confidence. It is our hope that students can do all of this in a place that is joyful, encouraging and supportive.
